Take a leap into your fullest, most vibrant self in this week-long yoga and Ayurvedic retreat.

Journey through the exotic and inspiring landscapes of Sri Lanka with a visit to a tea plantation, a hike through Knuckles mountain range, a trip to the an national park to view elephants, visit Sigiriya Rock, eat the most incredible Sri Lankan food and learn to make some wholesome and delicious Ayurvedic basics, with free time to enjoy the stunning beauty of your lakeside accommodation.

You'll also have opportunities to participate in one-on-one Ayurvedic counseling sessions, receive healing body work, paddleboard or kayak in the lake and take an optional cooking class.

RUKGALA RETREAT

Overview

Rukgala sits wonderfully close to secluded temples, lush green tea estates, the untouched mountains of The Knuckles, and the secluded villages that dot the shores of Victoria Lake. It boasts luxurious and chic decor, an outdoor pool, yoga pavilion, terraces and plenty of stunning views.

The Plan

On this epic yoga and Ayurveda retreat in Sri Lanka we’ve planned a beautiful flow for you designed to embrace and explore the rich culture and land of Sri Lanka, balanced with the quiet and rejuvenation of a healing retreat center tucked away on the side of a lake surrounded by nature. Each day of the retreat is designed around a theme to offer you the most healing and rich experience that a week as a whole can offer and so that each day is a delicious experience in it’s own right. Each day we will learn about and integrate a different element, a different energetic experience and a different sensory experience. Our teacher will tie this theme into the movement classes, the meals, conversations and our explorations, embracing true embodiment of Ayurveda. We have included a visit to a Tea Plantation, a hike in knuckles mountain, visit to Sigiriya Rock, an Elphant Safari, an Ayurveda cooking class and have left plenty of time for you to simply enjoy the beauty of our lake retreat, to have a one-on-one with our teacher, receive bodywork or to go on your own adventure to visit an elephant sanctuary, hike or do something you’ve been dreaming of doing in Sri Lanka. This Trip is Ideal for: This yoga retreat in Sri Lanka is a trip for all experience levels! Whether you’re a beginner yogi, experienced yogi or a beginner traveler or you’ve been around the world, you’ll have a beautiful and profound experience in the teardrop of India.

Day 1

Ease into the retreat with a gentle welcoming yoga practice followed by a delicious group dinner.

Day 2

Start the day with a grounding morning yoga practice before eating breakfast and heading to your Ayurvedic workshop and cooking class. Then, after lunch, you'll have some free time until your evening consultations. The day will end with a wholesome and hearty group dinner.

Day 3

Start your day with a fiery morning yoga practice followed by breakfast. Then, you'll depart for your excursion to Sigiriya Rock and Minneria Reserve. When you return, you'll recenter with evening yoga practice and a delicious dinner.

Day 4

Flow into the day with a nourishing morning yoga practice followed by breakfast. Then head to an optional cooking class at a family home in Kandy before your evening yoga class. End the day with a delicious dinner.

Day 5

Start the day early with an energizing morning yoga practice before eating breakfast and heading out for an excursion to the tea plantation. You'll visit a nearby waterfall and pick your very own tea before heading home, where you'll regroup with a centering evening yoga session followed by dinner.

Day 6

Start the day with a morning yoga session, followed by breakfast. Then, head outside for some kayaking or hiking before lunch. You'll have some time to rest and reflect before your evening yoga session, which will be followed by a final group dinner and closing circle.

Day 7

Say goodbye to your surroundings and prepare for the journey home.
