Gloria Baraquio

A yogini from Hawaii, Gloria began her practice in 2003 and after experiencing her ujjayi breath for the first time in a yoga class, she finally understood the importance of breathing and how it could calm, center, and ground her life. She began teaching in 2006 and embarked on a journey through vinyasa, ashtanga, Iyengar, hatha, bhakti, kundalini, somatics, ecstatic dance, Nia, Rolfing, acupuncture, physical theater, and natural foods, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the body, mind, voice, movement, and nutrition. Living both on and off the grid of the Big Island for 7 years was her greatest training in spiritual practice, yoga, natural healing, and community building. She is certified to teach vinyasa and aerial yoga, and she is a Lead Teacher Trainer for Shivakali Yoga.

PRIVATE ISLAND ACCOMMODATION

Overview

Your retreat is just north of the most popular destination in Palawan, where you’ll have your own private island for 6 nights. This area because is a bit away from the crowds with great access to many of the spots that people call their favorites.

The accommodations are rustic but comfortable and the food is delicious. We are very close to the El Nido airport, making travel a bit easier than to other destinations.

The Plan

Day 1

After you meet in El Nido for your transfer to your private island, you'll kick off the retreat with an evening yoga session and opening circle. Then, you'll enjoy a delicious group dinner to get to know your retreat mates.

Day 2

You'll wake up your body with an energizing morning yoga class followed by a wholesome and hearty breakfast. Then, you'll head out for a local island tour and lunch. When you return back to home base, you'll wind down with a gentle evening yoga session and a delicious dinner.

Day 3

Today is a low key day to rest and enjoy your surroundings—you'll ease into the day with morning yoga class and breakfast, then have free time to chill out, read, or explore on your own until lunch. Then, you'll have some more free time before ending the day with evening yoga and dinner.

Day 4

You'll depart bright and early for El Nido and an Island Tour, eating breakfast on the boat ride over. You'll have the chance to explore El Nido on your own for lunch and shopping and optional activities. 

Day 5

You have a chill day today to recuperate from yesterday's activity: you'll ease into the morning with yoga, then enjoy a heart and wholesome breakfast. Then, you can kick back and relax however you'd like until lunch, which will be followed by more free time. You'll wind down the day with gentle evening yoga and a nutritious dinner.

Day 6

You'll start your last full day on the retreat with morning yoga followed by a hearty breakfast. Then, you can either kick back and relax or join in on some optional adventures before lunch time. There will be more free time after lunch until your evening yoga class, which will be followed by a final delicious group dinner. You'll end the day with a special closing circle and bonfire.

Day 7

After a final tasty breakfast, you'll say your goodbyes and depart for your transfert to Puerto Princesa or El Nido.
