Jake Paul White and Amy Patsalides
Jake Paul White is a Yoga Teacher and Mixed Movement Artist. His time is spent travelling the world in search of adventure, opportunities of growth, and sharing his love for movement. He views yoga as an opportunity for self discovery, both emotionally and physically. His goal as a teacher is to provide an accessible and transformative environment for everyone to explore their innermost self. Unique to his teachings, Jake places his importance on the journey (transitions) of each pose rather than the destination (pose) itself. Jake’s teachings are relevant both on and off the mat, the primary focus of his teachings encompass the development of physical prowess, higher emotional intelligence, and good character.
Amy became a Graphic Designer shortly after discovering yoga 8 years ago. She attributes this discovery with giving her the faith in herself to achieve something she had always wanted to do, but had been to afraid to try. Amy has built her career around wellbeing, and believes doing something she loves has meant she can combine her passion with success in this sector as a teacher and designer. In 2016 she also started the business Akasha Yoga, organising yoga retreats showing how we can bring yoga into our everyday life.
The P l a n
You'll start every day with a 90-minute dynamic morning yoga class with Jake. Then, you'll have the daytime free to join the following optional workshops before ending each day with a gentle and restorative Hatha yoga class taught by Amy.
Your first workshop will explore what is unique about you, what gets you excited in life and how you can turn it into a career. It is possible to have a job that you love and to work in a way that suits your lifestyle.
This workshop will be on branding: the process of building a strong, positive identity around your business. It has many components that, when put together, create a cohesive message to help you develop an authentic relationship with your audience both on and off the mat. Like your yoga practice, a strong brand will help you shine from the inside out.
You might not feel like a natural salesperson, but there’s a way for everyone to find success in business in a way that feels natural to them. In this workshop, you ’ll discuss marketing, collaborations and how to make connections with the right people for you. By growing in an authentic way, this will feel more like a social than a sales pitch.
Some yogis and yoga teachers cringe at the idea of using social media to share their yoga practice; yoga isn’t about pretty pictures, impossible postures, selling leggings, or getting likes. Of course not! But, this workshop will focus on how best to utilise social media as a tool to share your practice with the world.
You'll have the day free from workshops; it’s important to let a lot of this new information settle, see what comes up for you, and use the time to chat with the group. Maybe you’d like to create some photography in the amazing surroundings to use on your website.
Today you’ll start the process of building your own website. You’ll spend one hour after breakfast summarising what you’ve covered this week, and using what you’ve learnt to make the content of your site unique. In the afternoon session, you'll start to build a simple three-page website.
You'll have the day free from workshops to co-work with your fellow yogis on pure relaxation or starting to promote your brand new business. Amy and Jake will be around to answer any questions.
