The Plan

  • 1
    On arrival

Arrive at Kathmandu Airport, where you'll be greeted by a member of the team and taken to your hotel for a meet and greet and a delicious Nepali welcome meal.

  • 2

Explore the Kathmandu Valley, an area that combines natural heritage and cultural experiences. Head out to explore city squares, magnificent temples, and take in outstanding panoramic views of mountains and cityscapes.

  • 3

Rise for a 7am bus leaving Kathmandu for the river Trisuli. It's about a 3 hour drive to the starting point then spend an afternoon rafting and a picnic lunch on an unspoiled beach. Finish the day of rafting at a pretty beach campsite and enjoy an evening of stargazing, sitting round the campfire, sipping on hot chocolate and eating popcorn.

  • 4

Your second day rafting Trisuli is more chilled with a calmer river that's perfect for kayaking. Have a go at kayaking between rafting then stop for lunch before being driven to Pokhara (approx. 4 hours) for a chilled dinner at a local restaurant.

  • 5

Drive to the Kali Gandaki river through the Himalayan foothills before hitting the best rapids then camp by night on a river beach in a stunning gorge lit by campfire.

  • 6

Wake to a hot coffee and breakfast before hitting a class 4 rapid which sets the pace for the day to come. Stop for lunch on a sandy beach with time to rest and refuel for an action-packed afternoon. Your reward is a hearty dinner enjoyed by the campfire on a river beach.

  • 7

Your final day on the river is more chilled. Spend the morning playing on some waves before the water flattens out as you approach the dam. On this stretch you can have a go kayaking, swim, or learn to guide the raft. After lunch you'll drive back to Pokhara, with some down time before dinner at a local restaurant.

  • 8

Rest up in the morning with some free time to sleep in or explore the lakeside. Make sure you're back at the Hotel for 11am when you set off through the Himalayan foothills to Sirubari. The drive takes about 4 hours through stunning scenery that requires a 4x4 for certain sections. Upon arrival you'll be given a grand welcoming by your Nepalese hosts before being shown to your home-stay. Enjoy the evening by walking around the village, interacting with the villagers, or indulging in a beer.

  • 9

Today is a day for exploring the local area. Hike (approx. 4 hours of walking) to the top of a mountain to see the panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountains, or visit the monks that live on the next peak. Head back down and visit one of the local schools if there is enough time. Tonight is dedicated to culture so expect a night of singing, dancing and eating with the locals.

  • 10

Say farewell to your hosts before being driven to Pokhara, with plenty of free time for you to enjoy the village today. The other option is to hike back and walk along the valley side to a saddle on the mountain ridge. Cross the saddle and head back down to one of the steepest staircases in the world. Then rest up in Pokhara with a chilled evening eating out at a restaurant and a hotel stay.

  • 11

Wake before dawn to be driven up to the top of Sarangkot and marvel at the stunning Annapurna Sunrise. The mountains are etched into the sky before being blasted into colour as the sun starts to rise. Once the sun has risen and the alpine glow has faded away, hike down to Lakeside for breakfast. Spend the rest of your day touring Pokhara. Visit the World Peace Pagoda, paddle across Fewa Lake, and see the torrent of the Seti canyon. You have some free time in the evening to go shopping, enjoy a spa, or continue to explore Lakeside.

  • 12

Rise to a final breakfast in Pokhara. The drive back will be until 4pm. You'll stop for lunch and leg-stretching breaks along the way but the highlight tonight will be your farewell feast.

    On departure

This is your final day but you might just have enough time for a wander around Thamel before your transfer to the airport arrives.
